Nissan sets up new unit to boost NISMO road car business

YOKOHAMA, Japan (April 25, 2017) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has set up a new unit to expand its NISMO road car business by making a greater range of models available to customers in more markets.The NISMO Cars Business Department is part of Autech Japan, Inc., a Nissan group company that makes converted vehicles. Using talent from Nissan, Autech, Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd. and other group companies, it will plan and develop more appealing products in a shorter time. NISMO road cars Nissan plans to expand the range of NISMO road cars to new segments, market them more globally and boost the lineup in existing markets, including Japan, North America, Europe and the Middle East. This will help increase sales of NISMO cars, which are now about 15,000 units a year.Nissan introduced the NISMO brand to its mainstream model lineup in 2013 to bring customers more innovations and excitement. Toyota, KDDI and Tokyo Hire-Taxi Association Begin Verification Testing for 'Connecte

Toyota Motor Corporation and KDDI Corporation, together with the Tokyo Hire-Taxi Association (THTA), have begun verification testing on data collection for making "connected taxis" a reality. Such taxis, by communicating with data centers, are expected to make possible new services that will, among others, improve taxi-customer convenience and support taxi drivers. The verification testing, which will center on the collection and analysis of data from taxis in the Tokyo metropolitan area, is being done to clarify technical requirements for taxi-related connected services and to enable practical application of large volumes of driving data.

Jon's Celica GT4 ST205

Hi guys, finally picked up my Celica last weekend from JM Imports, thought I'd start a thread of what I do with it. Priorities for the car are to first make sure it's as reliable as it can be, secondly to get it it cosmetically perfect, and finally up the power only slightly to ~300hp (currently sitting at around 270).

The car is fresh from Japan, 1998 with 83,000 miles on it and only some minor mods. Seems mechanically and structurally perfect, have put 500 miles on it this week and it hasn't missed a beat!

Here she is at home, unfortunately it doesn't fit in the garage, not sure I'd want to put it in there anyway to be honest, think it's about to fall down!



No idea what the wheels are but I quite like them. They say "Antigua", possibly by AEZ. Could do with a refurb at some point.



Main bonnet grill is a little patchy, currently repainting it but think I'm going to get a new one at some point.
