My Other Jap Toy 1998 Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
by Colin G, 07-02-2021, 07:46 PM
Well wasn't really too sure where to put this, but here seems as good a place as any.

This is my other Jap toy I've got. Its a 1998 Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird. Named after the lockheed sr71 due to it being (when launched) the world's fastest road legal production bike Smile Smile Smile

Still pretty standard at the moment, although since the pics its had a race exhaust system fitted along with K&N air and oil filters and a stage1 dynojet kit. Need to find the time now to get it on a dyno and setup correctly.

Anyway a few pic's Smile

Credit to DaveEdin for spotting this one, saw it on his Facebook.

The fun starts at post #14

http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=429641

But for those of you that can't be bothered to read it all this is a quick summary of what it contains.

  • Thread about a Snap-On tools van being robbed gets posted, starts a small discussion.
  • About 3 months passes, and post #14 appears, with what appears to be a troll comment from the supposed theif saying how easy it was to break into the van and that it was worth the 2 month jail term.
  • A few members Google his email address and discover through his email linking to a name, his name then links to several local newspaper articles about the theft
  • Various details about him then emergre including his full name and adress, pictures of him and his house, which has now lead to this...

SXE10 Crew UK's "Sick Bucket" Un-Build Thread
by S, 02-02-2021, 05:58 AM
Hello everyone!

I know most of you would have heard/seen about this already but we've decided to start a thread about it!

We have named the car "The Sick Bucket" because the colour reminds us of vomit.

Chris Cowling sent the SXE10 page a message with a link to the gum tree ad and we arranged to buy it the same night.

Me and Ste bought train tickets, got the money together and went down to London the next day, Jay works in London so he picked us up from the train station.

So the 3 of us drove to deepest, darkest Cambridgeshire to an army bomb disposal base and met the seller.

He was a plucky Irishman who obviously didn't know what he had - at one point he asked us:

"EErrrr have yas ever driven fast cars lads?"

To which we replied:

"we all have supercharged IS's already."

So we gave the car a quick once over and handed over the £1750 and he gave us £40 back for fuel - top bloke!

We then went for a KFC, filled the car up and then drove the thing home!

It was NOT a pleasant a drive - a combination of no stereo, no back box, non-adjustable bucket seat, binding brakes and a knackered clutch doesn't make for a car that's nice to drive!

The car popped and banged all the way home!

The car did make it home and then we started breaking it! First thing out was the colour matched interior!

Driving home:
