Tyre tests
by parthiban, 23-08-2018, 10:00 AM
Has anyone got a copy of the issues with this years Autocar or AutoExpress tyre tests?

Going to need new rear tyres soon and trying to decide which to go for to replace my F1s:

Michelin Pilot Sport 3
Continental Sport Contact 3
Continental Sport Contact 5
Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta

The Conti 3s have topped both of the tyre tests above, the 5 seems quite new so doesn't have any reviews I can find....

My most awesome day saturday!!!!
by Carpediem, 23-08-2018, 08:28 AM
Started off with a 10:00am appointment at Rugby Body Art,

this is 10 minutes after the tattoo,
[Image: dragontattoo2.jpg]

and this is after it settled down...

Then in the afternoon i headed off to Bruntinthorpe proving ground for a drive day,....in this!

got 4 laps of the circuit and topped out at 172mph on the straight, absolutely loved it!!!!!!!!!! only thing i had difficulty with was the paddle shift, as they stayed in one place trying to change up mid corner was a ball ache, but stil loved it none-the-less

a few other cars that were there......

then to top the whole weekend off i converted £2 into £40 betting Blackpool would beat Liverpool 2-1 Big Grin

Hello from Bean - IS200 Sport
by bean, 22-08-2018, 04:16 PM
Just got my hands on this IS200. It's bog standard, has a full compliment of stone chips and the alloys are shagg-ed but other than that it's not to bad.

Just the usual cleaning so far. Engine bay was manky, offside headlamp has condensation, grill had some sort of flaky carbon look cack on it (so have polished that away) and the tints on the front windows have got to go.
Pics are a bit poo sorry.

Metal Polishing - to much like hard work!
by todd, 22-08-2018, 01:33 PM
Well it used to look like this

And after some serious elbow work, got it like this

Now that took me 2hrs and I reckon to get it with a mirror finish I'd need another week LOL

Kudos to those guys that polish their metal bits to a mirror finish, wish I had that patience Smile

Hello from Newera Parts & My new GT-R
by matty@neweraimports, 22-08-2018, 08:23 AM
Well, it’s my last week as a Bayside Blue R34 GT-R owner:eek:

The new buyer will be only the 3rd person to own this car from new, the previous Japanese owner having it for 8 years, and then myself for 3 and it truly is a little gem.

Pic taken by Miguel, shortly after being collected at the auction in Dec/Jan 08.

at the docks, being prepared for shipping....

I am pleased it is going to good home & not being exported (like my previous GTR, and many R34s lately). I will not discuss the price I got for it; however the condition reflects the price & quality of parts found on the car. I doubt also many 34’s are being imported these days due to the high value they are fetching in Japan respective to the exchange rate, & the VAT going up to 20% in Jan.

The car is everything I ever dreamed of (and far more). Starting off with a 32 many years ago, I got the “RB” bug, and all my attention was focused on obtaining an immaculate Nismo Kitted BB BNR34.

I think meeting the Japanese GTROC members in 2006, and seeing Dino’s, Bean’s & Gio’s 34s really made me look into saving for a 34 for when the opportunity came along.

This happened in 2007, and the car has been perfect ever since. I have really enjoyed owning such an iconic & mythical car, and slowly changing the way it performed & looked.

A lot of people argue over the “premium” a 34 makes and why they are not coming down in price (on the whole), all I can say is that the looks, drive and overall package in my eyes, means that this shape will always be the most desirable of GT-R’s (just in front of the 32 imo).

It has come a long way in those 3 years since I picked it up from Newera, new wheels, HKS parts and the clear change of bonnet to a CF Top Secret Item amongst others. Power was up'd slightly to 440bhp, but nothing crazy

No other car, I have owned seems to draw the attention that a 34 has on the motorway on a late night drive, or sat at a set of traffic lights.

What will I replace it with? What could you replace an iconic shape GT-R with? It’s a tall order, something that needs to top the thrills, acceleration and general “oooo ahhhh” factor….

so

i am now the very proud owner of my friend Gio's R34 GT-R fully built from the ground up by Top Secret

Gio i want to extend my thanks to allowing me to be able to purchase the Competizione 34.CoolCool Your a true friend.

It is a true legend, and everytime i saw this in the flesh it was amazing. Even in 2006 when we went to Nismo, (when it was blue), its what made me buy a BB34...

now in its current format, with the additions you had done last year...i really appreciate everything you have done in the 6 weeks to enable me to have the keys to this very special BNR34.

I have never driven it, though Miguel informs me you need to change your pants at 200mph+ :p:p:p

Also extended thanks to Miguel / Newera Japan Team for their help in this purchase too...
