Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - jimxms - 06-06-2020 Hi Guys, Long time no speak - hope everyone is well ![]() I've just found out that my father-in-law is scrapping his 6th gen Celica and wanted to check on here first whether anybody would be remotely interested in giving it a good home? To be honest I know nothing about the specs/history, but obviously I can find all this out if anyone is interested. All I do know is that it's a turquoise colour, has 3 new-ish tyres, is in reasonable condition (not a rust bucket), hasn't been abused - but is in need of TLC. It's got a MOT/Tax at the moment (afaik) but both run out soon. Scrappie are offering £300...so someone could get a bargain Let me know ASAP, because it'll be meeting the big car graveyard in the sky as soon as tomorrow if nobody steps in. Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - Phil01 - 06-06-2020 Hello Jim, not his GT4? Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - jimxms - 06-06-2020 Oh no, the GT4 is my dads and I'd have that off him if he were scrapping it :p AFAIK this is probably just a 1.6...at best maybe an NA 2.0 But would be good for a project car or beater I imagine? Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - Phil01 - 06-06-2020 ebay it mate, it should fetch 500 if its tax and tested Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - jimxms - 06-06-2020 Phil01 ebay it mate, it should fetch 500 if its tax and tested Inlaws just want to get rid unfortunately as they've got 5 cars already I think this time tomorrow it will be turned into a toaster
Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - Phil01 - 06-06-2020 A Japanese toaster I hope. Shame when a good car has to die in that way Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - jimxms - 06-06-2020 Phil01 A Japanese toaster I hope. Indeed ![]() If it was a bit more pokey I would have maybe taken it on as a project. I have a lust for getting back into the Jap scene. Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - Phil01 - 06-06-2020 Yep, once the jap bug bites it is hard to not to want to go back, they seem to have a "soul". off topic, hows the Merc? Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - jimxms - 06-06-2020 Merc is going well. It ticks the family runaround + stupidly quick + near death experiences boxes, but as you say it just doesn't have the soul of a Japanese car. Kind of a shame really as I've not been able to get stuck in, and show it the love it deserves. My mouse has been hovering over the LS460's recently :blushing: BTW, I just spoke to my inlaw, and he bit the bullet and took the car to the crusher this evening rather than tomorrow. So the Celica is no more!! Anyone want to save a Celica from scrap? - parthiban - 06-06-2020 jimxms Merc is going well. A glorious supercharged AMG V8 doesn't have any soul?? Lol I thought you weren't too keen on the wafting...........but if wafting is what you're after have a go in an LS600h, never been in anything so quiet (and that includes an RR Phantom) |
