MG ZT-T Clutch - Rabster - 17-08-2017

Is it a DIY job im being advised to do the flywheel as well.

from what i can tell of the srvice log its still on the original clutch and fly done 82k

HELP!!!

No mate it not a diy job for the avarage man.
I would phone around and get some quotes.

Most garages will tell you to replace the Fly Wheel. 9 times out of 10 though you can re-skim it IF its not a stupid dual mass one.

MG ZT-T Clutch - steviewevie - 17-08-2017

Yeah check if the flywheel is dual-mass or just a solid one, as 2tongues says. If it's solid I can't imagine it'll need replacing, just fixing surely.

Edit - ok, a quick Google makes it looks like it's a dual-mass flywheel

Further Googling produced the following :

Quote:The DMF is made by Luk and they provide garages with very clear details on how to measure a given DMF for wear, if the DMF failed on those measurements then yes change it otherwise it is not required.

Quite a good thread on this subject here.

well just had the RAC out yep the clutch is slipping he doesnt think the flywheel has gone he would be suprised but only a grage can confirm i been towed away lol

so get it in to the garage 2moz might have it back by the end of the week if im lucky but im not so who knows lol

MG ZT-T Clutch - steviewevie - 17-08-2017

Reading that thread that I linked to, it looks like although you can get the clutch replaced, there's a question about whether you'll have clutch judder, depending on how the flywheel is. Fingers crossed that it's just a clutch replacement job though.

the garage is going to look into it but im expecting about the 1k mark if i have the clutch flywheel and slave cylinder done hell i might even throw in a full service as my pants will b down

Make sure they give you a warrenty with the work mate as some clutches only last 30,000 miles on this model.
