oil sump sealing - Chri5 - 26-04-2018 ok so my car is now fixed apart from using water still but i cant find that leak yet :crying: but thats not my question lol i have quite a leak coming from the oil sump. i did seal using what i thought was adequate for the job but its slowly worked itself a small hole somewhere. i thought that a cork or paper gasket would be better but toyota dont sell these and the sealent that they sell is apparently £50 which for obvious reasons i arent paying. so what sealent would be suitable or should i get a piece of cork and cut it to shape??? oil sump sealing - Chri5 - 27-04-2018 Anybody??? oil sump sealing - is300_dino - 27-04-2018 what material did you use originally to fix it? was it just sealant type stuff? oil sump sealing - Chri5 - 27-04-2018 I used flange sealent mate. Was told it can take the heat so should be ok. But it's just slowly getting worse. Doesn't help that there is a few sump bolts missing but bizzarely it's not leaking from them parts anyway oil sump sealing - TM - 27-04-2018 :Bazza:clean off the c rap,and fit a gasket .....thats the way to go:thumbup1: oil sump sealing - Chri5 - 27-04-2018 As in cork rev??? oil sump sealing - TM - 27-04-2018 Chri5 As in cork rev???they do a 2mm paper and cork, but the paper one is best think you can buy just the sump gasket:thumbup: oil sump sealing - Chri5 - 27-04-2018 Not according to Toyota you can't mate. oil sump sealing - TM - 27-04-2018 Chri5 Not according to Toyota you can't mate.pm me your car details ,and i'll send my parts drive tommorrow:thumbup: oil sump sealing - Chri5 - 27-04-2018 Cheers mate :thumbup1: pm enroute
