Keep an eye out on ebay is my only suggestion. I've seen a few GTE engines go for ~100 quid on ebay.co.uk. Ones that are complete and working will be a bit more expensive though. You'd still need to find a clutch and flywheel though.

Try Import Monster these guys trail through the Japanese auction sites and translate to English. Buying an engine may be impractical but you may be able to find of the parts you need on the second Japanese market.

Still awaiting my manifold but I refitted the engine to test everything else like power steering pipes, radiator etc
