a lot of this can be applied to the 1GFE as well as the block is extremely similar, the crank is identical to the GEN3 1GGTE (so same size big end and main bearings)
Im applying all this in my rebuild, ive already done the oil mods except the bearings one as i havent got them yet.

Not surprising that it shares quite a few bits from the 3S. Can you use 3S clutches/flywheels on it?

Not sure to be honest!
if anyone has an old 3s flywheel or can measure one let me know,
though i think the 3s has more bolts (8 compared to 6)
edit: just checked on Toyodiy and the 3S has 8 bolts, 1G has 6

Dunno, but I imagine a lot of torque!
And then you could add the transfer box and your heading towards 4wd

What's the layout of the hilux 4wd, does the gearbox have 3 outputs or just 1? I.e. do the front driveshafts come out of the gearbox as well as the prop, or does it go to the back first and then back to the front?
