My new toys - dimis - 30-04-2023
Hi Sparky, for sure I will keep you updated.
So as I mentioned the car is in the garage. The engine, gearbox and exhaust system are removed from the car and it is a bit sad to see the car with a naked engine bay. Anyway, the new engine was fitted today, but we just found out that the 2jzgte flywheel does not match with an R154 gearbox so I just ordered a new OEM single mass 1JZGTE flywheel, uprated flywheel and pressure clutch bolts and an new transmission mount from UK. The parts will arrive next week so until then it is the turn of the electrician to match the supra harness with the lexus. A new thing that we discovered is that the JDM Aristo models manufactured after 2000 the immobilizer are built on the ecu unit, which is very hard to reflash or turn on the engine without the key. Luckily I got a 1999 ECU model which do not have an immobilizer. Keep that in mind otherwise you will be in big trouble.
Lastly I got a nice new shiny Garrett 4088R ball bearing turbo for the engine. It produces up to 650hp and it is a fast spool new generation turbo.
