Press leak CT 200H - parthiban - 13-01-2018 2tongues Isn't Lexus a "executive" brand? Why are they trying to launch into a new sector, with something thats probably just a re-modelled Yaris? It's not a Yaris, it's a 1 series/A3 competitor, and it's effectively a Prius with a different (auris looking) body. Luxury brands need small cars too, Lexus is quite late to the game comparatively. There's two ways of looking at it, compared to the 1 series this doesn't look great, but compared to the Prius it looks fantastic
Press leak CT 200H - bash6673 - 13-01-2018 ![]() loved the concept, just looks like any modern bland hatch( no,not the lacing circuit) now. ad:
Press leak CT 200H - parthiban - 13-01-2018 That side on looks weird, from the B pillar forwards it looks pretty good, but behind it all looks squashed - it's not helped by that far too aggressive kink in the rear door.......... DJ Wozza just a shame they didn't make it RWD IMO.Cost issue I guess, this way they just slap the Prius drivetrain into a new body and away you go, RWD would have meant development from scratch (which is how it really should be at Lexus money). Press leak CT 200H - spikes - 13-01-2018 will there be a three door ? Press leak CT 200H - steviewevie - 14-01-2018 Marsdendean I don't like it. IMO Toyota are there to provide entry level cars, and Lexus to provide luxury cars. Leave the IS for the entry level Lexus. There's a big market for "premium" small cars now though. Remember the big success of the Mini ? Smaller cars that are premium-priced can sell well and make lots of money for their makers ! Especially with a luxury hybrid perhaps ? Press leak CT 200H - Lexusboy - 14-01-2018 America are really into there big mpg cars now, how things change in a small space in time, how long ago was it there were happy to run 7 litre cars. Press leak CT 200H - parthiban - 14-01-2018 Marsdendean I don't like it. IMO Toyota are there to provide entry level cars, and Lexus to provide luxury cars. Leave the IS for the entry level Lexus. This isn't an entry level car, it's a small luxury car - I'm pretty sure you're going to be looking at £20k+ for one of these, with a full spec version probably touching £30k........not entry level at all! Press leak CT 200H - parthiban - 16-01-2018 I actually think the 18" rims off the GS hybrid might suit it, and possibly make it look a lot better. For me the wheels are a real problem, that's what's making it look a lot like an auris. |
