Sorry to see this mate if the bonnet won't release there is more damage sorry mate
when I did mine bonnet popped but wouldn't release.
If you get it open remove all items to check for warped metal

This is what mine looked like before it was repaired. Needed 2 new headlights (cracked retaining clips), slam panel and new bonnet. However my bonnet would open...........
