Wireless Belkin N router as an access point? - toxo - 14-10-2018 lol, in my experience next day delivery from ebuyer means some time next week  I am not a big fan of powerline, it's a massive bodge from a technical point of view. But it does work and doesn't require any setting up which are both big bonuses to the end user. I've been told by the guys that still work at my old place that they are much more reliable these days though. Wireless Belkin N router as an access point? - Saraj - 14-10-2018 Ibe been using them since 04 on and off really see way happens today if it turns up Wireless Belkin N router as an access point? - Saraj - 14-10-2018 Its come and all setup top class the ps3 has now i download speed of 35 Mb/s Wireless Belkin N router as an access point? - parthiban - 14-10-2018 Sorry was a bit late to this one, I have these: http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-av-push-piggy-mk2.htm They also do these gigabit ones now but not sure whether you actually see those speeds over mains wiring: http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-gig-index.htm The ones you got are great value though and sounds like they're working perfectly, that's an impressive download speed! Is there a way I can test the network speed I'm getting over my powerline adapters? Is it simply a case of just trying to copy a file from one computer to another or is there an actual speed test you can do? Wireless Belkin N router as an access point? - toxo - 14-10-2018 Well you don't see 200mbit over mains wiring either - unless the items at both ends have gigabit NICs then you'd never be able to test it over 100mbit anyway. Copying files between 2 PCs should give you a half decent idea, but Windows filesharing has some pretty major overheads, so the speed indicated by your OS (presuming you use Windows anyway) will be lower than the actual speed attained. Both the PCs I have connected by powerline have gigabit network cards but I only have the 200Mb adapters so it's irrelevant  Yeah with the old wiring we have I'm pretty sure it's not going to be anywhere near 200Mb, but even 50 would be good enough. Just wondered if there was a way to test the network speed
Wireless Belkin N router as an access point? - Saraj - 14-10-2018 I just used ps3 connection test that gave me the figures Wireless Belkin N router as an access point? - parthiban - 14-10-2018 Saraj I just used ps3 connection test that gave me the figures Is that based on the internet speed though? I've only got a 10meg connection and based on download speeds that's not being limited at all, so I'm definitely getting 10Mb over powerline  |
