New car time, need some suggestions - parthiban - 18-05-2019 Stoney If you want 4WD, I would again suggest Audi Quattro! lol I think you're probably right that the Germans are the option that cover all bases - but within that budget wouldn't you be looking at something really old or with quite high mileage? New car time, need some suggestions - Stoney - 18-05-2019 2tongues Impreza is 2L,Legacy is 2.5L, but same everything else. You are correct. I forget! The older Legacys were 2.0 though, and the newer Imprezas are 2.5! New car time, need some suggestions - FirebirdPhil - 18-05-2019 Stoney You are correct. I forget! The older Legacys were 2.0 though, and the newer Imprezas are 2.5! Looks like we are both right - now this will get confusing. New car time, need some suggestions - E55EX_RACER - 18-05-2019 Just been looking at all of the 2L and 2.5L Subaru's including the turbos and they're more or less all the same mpg. So as you guys have said it must be down to them having AWD, same engines and gearbox etc. There are so many of these cars for under £2k, it's a shame the insurance and fuel prices are decreasing their value. I think my only option is to increase my budget and I think the Accord Estate is the best option ATM. The 2.2L diesel is 140bhp as standard but after a remap it'll be 185bhp. That is alot more than the non turbo'd Subaru's but I'm not sure how that compares in the real world with one being FWD and the other RWD. Been looking at Accords like these. I think for now I'm gonna have to buy with my head and not my heart! Rolex Corrolla D4D Just had a proper look at these, they have less bhp than my mondeo and weigh more so that is going to be slow! Definitely won't be wanting one of those. New car time, need some suggestions - E55EX_RACER - 18-05-2019 I seem to have overlooked one, the Mazda 6. I really like the look of this one as well, anyone know anything about them? New car time, need some suggestions - Phil01 - 18-05-2019 mazda 6 is a rebadged for mondeo What about a corolla t sport, 3 or 5dr hatchback, 35+mpg with 190bhp and you could pick one up around the 2k mark New car time, need some suggestions - DaveEdin - 18-05-2019 Dunno Phil, the Mazda 6 MPS is a pretty nice beastie 30-35mpg plus about 260bhp...MPS might be a bit above budget though... New car time, need some suggestions - E55EX_RACER - 18-05-2019 Phil01 mazda 6 is a rebadged for mondeo Doesn't surprise me, the early fiesta was the same as the 121 wasn't it. I guess parts would be fairly cheap then? Just had a look at those Corollas, not a bad shout, certainly look the part. Insurance is similar to that of the Accord Tourer and Mazda 6 Estate. There's 2 things putting me off, the boot is probably too small, there's less space than a focus/mondeo. The tax (VED) is alot as well, I was hoping for something that's under £200 a year. One to think about though, don't you have one? DaveEdin Dunno Phil, the Mazda 6 MPS is a pretty nice beastie I wasn't looking at the MPS as it's a saloon so no good for me
New car time, need some suggestions - DaveEdin - 18-05-2019 Mazda 3 MPS is a hatchback though :thumbup1: Kev (dandydons) has one of them, so ask him what it's like
New car time, need some suggestions - reidy - 18-05-2019 +1 for the Corolla T Sport The boot is pretty big, I have a three door and I got a 4ft aquarium in the back (seats down obviously) not so long ago
