Any news on whether it was the water pump that was the cause of the previous overheating ?
Hi mate, i have not had the time to take alook, but as soon as i do i will let all know, but im 99% sure it was the pump!

steviewevie Presumably the new (2nd) engine has a new water pump on it ?Hi mate, this engine i got out of a running LS400 about 6 months ago, and the guy i got it of had one fitted about 3 months before, so yes this should be all ok, as the car was being used before it was sold to me

Hi mate, well since i swaped the engines over the car has been running nice, and then!! i go out to it on friday and i have water under the car? take alook around and can not see where it has come from, so i start her up and with in 10min she starts to overheat
so i stop the car take alook and i can see water driping from the back of the crank pully ( theres a hole there to let water out if the pump go,s) so it looks like the pump has gone on this engine as well, so i ask around on the V8 site that i go on alot, and alot of the guys on there have said if the engine has been sitting for some time 9 time sout of 10 the pump will need replaceing 
did not have time to work on it over the weekend so i have just started the work today, all the front of the car had to come of and the timeing belt, well all thats done the pump is of the car, and now i have to wait for the new one to turn up, fing pig of a job i can tell you that,
as for the old engine it was the pump on that that went as well,
I have to do something about the heat that the engine makes as its so dame hot under the bonnet :glare:
she should be up and running in time for the ACE cafe meet and the tunnel run that night as well
