Earthing the pwl wire on the drivers door made no change to how it was before. Can I check the wires at the relay for earths and lives to make sure I have them? Which terminals though.

when bridging these two terminals the windows work exactly as they are supposed to, including the locking button on the drivers door, i think i'll just bridge those two permanently, the bottom right terminal is a positive and so is the upper most top one, one of those must 12v+ from the ignition so i'll put the wire on that and be done with it, at a guess i would say the fuse box was broken.

for some reason the bottom left terminal is not earthed at all to anything which it should be (i think) so somewhere between that terminal and earth to ground/body/battery the wire or circuit board inside the fuse box is broken, i could either take apart the fuse box to find the circuit and get lost in a maze of bits and bobs/wires/chips or who knows what or i can just earth that terminal by sticking a length of wire to ground it on the back of that spade terminal so it has a new earth and the relay would click when the ignition was turned on and my windows would work.
