Help with installing headrest monitors... - deckie77 - 06-01-2018 Glad you got it sussed out Mo:wink: Help with installing headrest monitors... - momo88 - 07-01-2018 thanks again deckie. Ive got a problem though, i went to start the car just there and it wont start. Gives off that ticking noise when the batt is flat (the gauge is reading about 9volts) It also happened after i fitted the monitors, but i just assumed it was coz i had left the ignition on for too long. i cant be draining the power surely as i spliced into the pink (+ve) wire for the cig lighter. Can anyone shed any light?! Thanks Mo Help with installing headrest monitors... - Rabster - 07-01-2018 deepnds if you lighter socket was modifiedto provide power when the car is off..... some people do this so its not dependant on the ignition working check the feed you taped into is there power when the car is off ? Rabs Help with installing headrest monitors... - momo88 - 07-01-2018 yea ive used my tom tom charger in my cig lighter while the key is out of the ignition, it doesnt work. It only works when i turn the key. Ive tried geting it jump started from a neighbour. and that hasnt worked either
Help with installing headrest monitors... - Rabster - 07-01-2018 howlong did you leave it before trying to jump start if it was down at 9v you will need to leave it a little while connected before trying to jump only like 5min max Help with installing headrest monitors... - momo88 - 07-01-2018 ahh nah i didnt do that. il try that next time someone is around. ive disconnected the cig lighter for the moment. Still dont know why it wouldnt start this morning after leaving it runnning for about 20mins last night Help with installing headrest monitors... - steviewevie - 07-01-2018 There's a chance your battery is on the way out, and you drained what little there was in there when you were trying things out last night ? Cold weather had a bad effect on failing batteries. Is the battery old ? Help with installing headrest monitors... - momo88 - 07-01-2018 no idea tbh. Ive just bought the car in december. i thought the alternator ( i think) charged the battery while the engine ran? Help with installing headrest monitors... - Rabster - 07-01-2018 it does the other thing to do once you get the car started chuck a multimeter on the battery and see what it reads anything above 13 is good Help with installing headrest monitors... - deckie77 - 07-01-2018 Clicking noise when turning the key, starter solenoid???? Is there enough power in the battery to put lights on full beam??? if there is then the battery may be fine, but after having ignition on for fitting the monitors then battery being dead would make sense. |
