japfest camera questions - Bandit - 04-04-2019 Phil01 Good idea to have a photography forum as I and Oli and many other have a keen interest, there is one mate, this is it  i gave admin a shout yesterday to see if we could have one and now we have :thumbup1: japfest camera questions - Phil01 - 04-04-2019 Nice one chris, I am sure this forum will become popular japfest camera questions - Bandit - 04-04-2019 Hopefully mate, something i thought of when i was chatting to Oli, also got an area to post the pic's that we take now, where we can discuss them etc if we want to? :thumbup1: japfest camera questions - E55EX_RACER - 04-04-2019 Dark Samurai No mate. Raw files are like 5mb :p That's nothing, mine average 10-12mb each. You telling me you don't have the hard drive space to store them? You don't need to keep them all, just the good ones ![]() You really are missing out if you let the camera process the jpgs itself. Think of a RAW file as the equivilent of a negative, it's the photo in it's RAW state, how you took it but unprocessed. The jpgs are what the camera has processed for you, how it thinks you want the photo to look. Alot of photographers use Lightroom (although I don't have it) and some use Photoshop like me. You open the RAW files in this and can adjust the white balance, contrast, saturation and so on. When you've finished you can then save it as a jpg, so you've processed it yourself rather than letting the camera do it. japfest camera questions - Phil01 - 04-04-2019 You open the RAW files in this and can adjust the white balance, contrast, saturation and so on. You can do alot of that in windows photo gallery, ok for the odd touch up or two. japfest camera questions - Voodoo Vix - 04-04-2019 Maybe a good idea to have a photography meet up We amateurs can ask you gurus some stupid random questions and we can all get some decent piccies of our cars lolAfter Santa Pod and Modified Live in June, there's not much going on in July/August so maybe a meet up, BBQ, photoshoot, would love to get some good pics of mine and Mike's together and some club ones too, also a good chance to meet other members and a good ol' chinwag, without (hopefully) distractions of exploding cars etc. lol japfest camera questions - Dark Samurai - 04-04-2019 My mac HDD is 500GB give me a copy of PS
