My IS200 So far.. - sprinter2012 - 11-06-2019 When you say they make the car sit too high, I assume your reffering to the distance between the top of the tyre and the arch? Not the ground clearance, because with that wheel/tyre combo yours should actually be lower than an equivalent car with the same springs but correct tyres. But like Ormi said, tyres can be found for dirt cheap money. Maybe get a set of no name bargain tyres for the back and put some decent ones on the front to save if you really don't like how they look? Seems a shame to have done such a good job refurbing them to then not use them! That's it mate yeah, the ground clearence is lower but the tyres gives the impression the cars a 4x4 lol. I don't think the fact he's streched 215 tyres on there has helped either. What do you think I should run? I was thinking 225/40/18 but they seem even dearer lol. My IS200 So far.. - Lexuspat - 11-06-2019 car looks stunning mate i havent been around for a few weeks and its nice to see new cars on the OJC My IS200 So far.. - sprinter2012 - 11-06-2019 It's difficult to say really, if you want to fill the arches then go for the 225/40. But you may find yourself wanting to lower the whole car if you do...I started off on 17s with 215/45, and when I switched to the 18s on 225/40 I noticed the increase in ride height. (although they do fill the arches better) And coming from stretched 215/35 you'll probably notice it even more. Could you get something in between for now? Like a 225/35, and then maybe lower it as well at a later date? My IS200 So far.. - dj0nes - 11-06-2019 Cheers mate, ill check some prices out. It's already been dropped 40mm so next step would be coilovers. My IS200 So far.. - Stoney - 11-06-2019 I think I would run 225/40/18 on those wheels personally. The higher profile should help them sit better in the arches, and the wider tyre would also give a little bit more grip. My IS200 So far.. - Stoney - 11-06-2019 I know that tyres can get very expensive, but I'm still not sure I would recommend skimping on them. Cheap tyres will DOWNGRADE your car's acceleration, handling and braking, especially in the wet. However you modify the car to make it perform better, you'd be shooting yourself in the foot a bit if you put rubbish tyres on. My IS200 So far.. - dj0nes - 07-07-2019 I hated the standard plate but didn't want to do a DIY fix/fk up on filling the holes... so I went budget style and filled the two holes with a couple of grommets lol!
My IS200 So far.. - ormi - 07-07-2019 i noticed you have said a legal import number plate.....em thats not true...the plate you run is illegal....as your car is not an import...not saying you'll get done but it is illegal My IS200 So far.. - dj0nes - 07-07-2019 ormi i noticed you have said a legal import number plate.....em thats not true...the plate you run is illegal....as your car is not an import...not saying you'll get done but it is illegal Lol I know mate, found that out last month when they failed me on the MOT for it :p No bother from the police yet though *touch head*. |
