Stix's IS200 - S - 21-12-2020 Does anyone have any ideas as to why the supercharger belt would be slipping but ONLY on WOT lift off? it's solid at all other times - on boost and under load, part throttle lift off etc etc any ideas? knackered tensioner mabee? Stix's IS200 - Sparkystav - 21-12-2020 There's too much friction being caused by the sucking of air in compared to the engine slowing down. Do you still have the working bypass? Is the spring opening quick enough? Stix's IS200 - S - 21-12-2020 Hmmm it does have the bypass but I cant imagine the spring being up to much so it could be that! thanks stav I would never have thought of that! and it's eating belts like nothing else haha! Stix's IS200 - Sparkystav - 22-12-2020 Def the bypass mate. If its not bypassing the air backs up. Against the charger and stalls it ripping the belts. Sweet well that's an easy fix, I bought a massive box of springs ages ago! I'll just put a stronger one on.thanks Stav ... Again! Haha Stix's IS200 - eogbaker - 22-12-2020 Surely the bov would of released this pressure when you lift of though? Stix's IS200 - Sparkystav - 22-12-2020 Don't know if he has one. may not be releasing enough pressure. Stix's IS200 - S - 22-12-2020 Yeah I have one, it isn't adjusted though so it mightnt be acting fast enough. Stix's IS200 - S - 27-12-2020 Right, I've put a stronger spring on the bypass and adjusted the SSQV so it blows off easier. My only concern is that the belt seems to be moving on full throttle? Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS5BTxpCcbQ any ideas why its doing this? Stix's IS200 - Sparkystav - 27-12-2020 Hmm would say tome the tensioner is buckled slightly. Or the belt not quite tight enough. |
