redz little update for those that are interested.. the vp of sales and loyalty has confirmed that they will not enter into a price war with other operators but will instead put the emphasis on network/customer service.
We'll wait and see, if they stick to a fixed price it's because Apple have forced them to do so, if not people will get some iPhone bargains this xmas :w00t:

if it's a good price i'll be changing my Samsung Toco that I got this year lol, Orange have been really good for me £35 a month for unlimited texts, 500mins, 500 WAP mins and a free Playstation 3 and £95 cash back.

Orange has confirmed that it will make the iPhone available from November 10, with tariffs starting at £30.
Orange stores will open at 7am on that day. The iPhone 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models will be available on multiple monthly plans, with the 3GS free on all £45 plans and the 3G model free from £30 plans, both with a 24-month contract

Have to admit the iPhone is an unbelievable success story......I think it's a cool phone and I would have had one if it was available on 12 month contracts, but I can't believe that people are paying around £1000 over a 2 year contract.
I just can't hang on to a phone that long though as I get bored of it, plus that price on a 2 year contract is just too much.
But then I guess the point of the iPhone is that desire has to exceed need, and for me despite being a massive tech fan, my head just can't make those numbers work
