Depends what I feel like - this week it's Kubuntu (Ubuntu with KDE instead of Gnome), but I usually run Mandriva/Suse/Fedora. Whatever I feel like, really. So long as I keep my /home partition separate, a full OS reinstall doesn't touch my data...
and takes about half an hour

I've never bothered to set up a site, but have heard some good things about freewebs.com, now known as webs.com - been a while but I think they're still free...Failing that you can get a full .com domain, webspace etc from 1&1 for about 6 quid a year...

No mate i prefer uploading my own site to their server, their site is make your own on their website. Which i don't want, but then again could be hell of alot easier.
Or i just create it on web expression.

FreeWebSites will host you for free, no website builder there, just FTP access for you to upload your content. They will stick an advert on your page though...
