Mitsubishi Evo Buying Guide - Moley - 24-07-2018

Anees Sorry guys but will not be at JAE this year. Need to spend a bit of time at home with the wife and baby and weekends are the only time I get at the moment. Hopefully next year they can come too! Smile They are not ready for long car journeys yet otherwise they could have come this year.

Thats a shame mate, but just say you are not allowed and we'll all understand :p

Anees In that case look at an Evo 7-9 fq300. No point getting any thing faster because to mod it lightly you would have to take off the go faster bits of the faster models and then replace them with new bits anyway.

If you got an fq300 and put a 3" turbo back exhaust, fuel pump, boost controller or boost solonoid, modified the air box or got an induction kit and then a remap you would (for fairly little outlay) be around the 370 - 380bhp mark and it would stay a reliable car too. If you got some cams too then you would be around 400bhp.
I do like the Evo 7 look actually but it depends on what you are looking to spend.

What is your one Anees ?

off to have a look through the auto trader / pistonheads etc etc

Mine was an fq320 before the modifying. Lol

Just buy one pre-2006 to make sure you dont have to stump up the £425 road tax!!!!!!

That is a very good point.

One thing I would say is that some Evos are classes as PLG vehicles so they can be 2006 cars yet only cost £245 to tax. Just luck of the draw really when they were imported.

Mine is £245.

What year is yours Anees,
So I could go for a FQ 360 and that would be as good as your one ??
Or are there any bad things with that compared to yours ?

Hi mate,

No point going for an Fq360 if you intend to mod it a bit for more power because all the extra bits the fq360 has over an fq300 need to be changed anyway so the advice is to get a cheaper one and save the money because you can spend it on mods.

However.... If you just want to not mess with the engine then yes an fq360 would be awesome. :thumbup1: Think the fq360 comes with half leather seats too which mine didn't and it would be similar power wise to mine. :w00t:

I assume you are looking at an Evo 9 fq360 then? Smile
