I am guilty of showing off thow, this got me bad rep and when i was not showing off i hada head on crash but no one ever beleived me that i was driving within the limit Smashed up cossie - garyskisplym - 07-07-2018 posts havebeen deleted i think Smashed up cossie - Carpediem - 08-07-2018 garyskisplym when ever me or a mate get a new car we go up on the a certain part surrounding plymouth to find the limits so we have help but we only going to kill selfs. Thats the problem, I had 2 write offs cus of speeding the 3rd was someone else's fault but i still got tarnished with the hooligan brush :drink: Smashed up cossie - parthiban - 08-07-2018 I don't think it's fair to cover speeding and street racing under the same banner - I don't mind speeding if it is done safely and sensibly, but street racing is insane and should be stopped. The manner in which it was done in this case is totally unacceptable, but police action is the right way to go. Smashed up cossie - Carpediem - 08-07-2018 So hard to define between the two though, where they racing? where they just a group speeding? Smashed up cossie - parthiban - 08-07-2018 Carpediem So hard to define between the two though, Not sure to be honest, but I consider activities that would be performed on a drag strip as racing also........so yes they were racing :tongue_smilie: Smashed up cossie - Carpediem - 08-07-2018 yeah i understood exactly what you meant matey but to the descerning public/police they would probably put a generalised view on it we obviously know the difference
Smashed up cossie - FirebirdPhil - 08-07-2018 Its simple really, if you are breaking the speed limit you are committing a criminal offence and run the risk of being prosecuted, or worse as seen on this thread. Therefore any form of speeding is not socially acceptable. Just because we all speed - it does not make it right. What annoys me is when people are caught speeding and try to worm their way out and cry about injustice etc..... There are 1000's of threads about that on the net. Take the points and pay the fine. Smashed up cossie - Carpediem - 08-07-2018 ^^ Exactly, ive got points, never argued the toss Smashed up cossie - parthiban - 08-07-2018 2tongues Its simple really, if you are breaking the speed limit you are committing a criminal offence and run the risk of being prosecuted, or worse as seen on this thread. Completely agree with you, the point I was making though is that I don't think it's fair to put street racing and doing 85 in a 70 in the same category - they are two wholly different levels of breaking the law. |
