Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Sparkystav - 01-01-2019 jimbob150385 what do you think to this rabs +rep Looks an interesting post good find! Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Jimbob-T-Lex - 01-01-2019 did find another post that said about using the switch on the drivers door for the central locking so another way to try i guess oh quck question u may know do i need a relay to connect the factory disarm output? if so what relay u used mate thx Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Rabster - 01-01-2019 Option 1 wire it the same as i have to trigger the factory alarm keyfob probably the quickest route and as you will be sacrificing a key anyway if you are planning remote start or even push button start. Option 2 locate the door locking wires i cant remember the colours of the top of my head but the current alternates to lock and unlock on the standard system there is a feed going into the drivers door the other feed is loctaed at the very back of the foot well nearest the accelerator not much cable to play with in doing it this way you will loose standard door locking features of the car... option 3 Remove control box above fuse box. remove circuit board from box. find at lower end 2 x thicker tracks. Drill a hole in box outer cover opposite the tracks. Place grommet in this hole. Cut the tracks. Test for no continuity. Temporary replace board. Use the factory remote to lock and unlock the vehicle. Upper one side will flash 12 volts on lock other upper will flash 12volts on unlock. you will need to fit 2 relays in to the wiring here. locking circuit first take the common of the relay and attach to the lower side of the relay on the board Take N/C to the upper side of the board repeat above for the unlock side of things the proximity entrance gives a 12v on arm and disarm take the green wire to your lock relay take the blue wire to your unlock relay and give both a ground feed before you connect the power to the proximty circuit confirm factory door locks still work you will need to give the n/o a 12v fused feed i would have thought the same feed that you would use to trigger it should be enough if not you will need a constant 12v on the n/o 15A should be enough i think here is a link of the ECU once modified ![]() im yet to do the above in my car as it requires more work as i fluffed about with lots of other bits lol hope this helps Andrew Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Rabster - 01-01-2019 the drivers door lock switch runs on a digital signal and is not enough to power the alarm relays or be used to lock or unlock the circuit Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Jimbob-T-Lex - 01-01-2019 "Option 1 wire is the same as i have done using the remote probably the quickest route and as you will be sacrificing a key anyway this may work best."??? sorry mate morelikely me just being stupid just trying to get my head round it lol its the using the remote and sacrificing key bit soz andrew Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Rabster - 01-01-2019 as you have a after-market alarm you can use the after-market alarms door triggers to make a contact closure on the standard remote. you will be loosing a key if you are putting in remote start sorry my bad, this is due to needed the transponder to pick up existing imobiliser signal.. Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Jimbob-T-Lex - 01-01-2019 oh right mate i aint gonna install remote start. so if i install a start/stop engine button i have to wire in the the key circuit for the transponder to pick up lol im writing all this down and its getting confusing lol if i didnt id have to have the key in ignition yeah ??? Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Rabster - 01-01-2019 yeah thats right you can get emulators but im yet to experiment with these as i have a CAT1 Certified alarm installed Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Jimbob-T-Lex - 01-01-2019 lol right so where am i soldering the wires of my aftermarket alarm lol ive confused myself now pmsl can i solder them to the 2 points on the ecu? Viper VX480 Wire colours???? - Rabster - 01-01-2019 are you doing it this weekend ? i will have a read of the manual and let you know which wires will need to be connected to the ECU if you can identify the tracks that i have removed on the board shown above located bottom left ish these are the door lock relays of the standard alarm |
