My Indecisive 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE Project - el_bandido - 04-10-2019 Hang on, are you turning a vvti engine in to a non vvti engine? My Indecisive 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE Project - toxo - 04-10-2019 No. The VVTi engine is only available with the sump right at the front and that won't fit in the rx7 because the steering rack and subframe are in the way. You can bolt on the sump & oil pan (and pickup, and baffle and so on) from the earlier non-VVTi engine. My Indecisive 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE Project - toxo - 04-10-2019 Have a read of this post I wrote on my website for more info about sumps: http://www.project-ruze.co.uk/?p=62 My Indecisive 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE Project - reco2k - 04-10-2019 toxo No. The VVTi engine is only available with the sump right at the front and that won't fit in the rx7 because the steering rack and subframe are in the way. You can bolt on the sump & oil pan (and pickup, and baffle and so on) from the earlier non-VVTi engine. I did a lot of research ino the rx7 conversion and almost did it, there are a few ways to make it fit, the easiest is as you say take the sump etc from a soarer engine, enlarge 4 of the holes and then swap it onto the vvti engine. then if you take out the rear of the subframe it will go in ok and it can be mounted to the chassis rails My Indecisive 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE Project - Moley - 04-10-2019 Well Toxo when will it be up and running ? My Indecisive 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE Project - toxo - 04-10-2019 Some time in 2013 I reckon! My Indecisive 4.0 V8 1UZ-FE Project - Moley - 04-10-2019 I thought they were fast enough as standard ? Am I wrong ?
