went to the bank today they said it may take upto 6 working days for the cheque to clear but the fund will be availabe to withdraw by thursday. the cheque is a RBS on and cashed it in my RBS account so hopefully clear by wednesday

Make sure no RBS banker nicks your money- I don't trust any banks since the banking crisis/credit crunch started.

Asi if you have a RBS account and you deposit into a RSB bank it should only take three days to see the money in your account and four days to draw.
Although RBS own Natwest AND Natwestone accounts this is not the same as putting cheque through RBS bank so this can take longer.
