Marsdendean You pay for the "rights" to have that number plate.
They are very good plates Terry. When i get a private one, ill just get a random Irish one, something like XLZ 3141 Which is £191!!!
You can get random Irish plates (which is what I've got) for a *lot* less than that. e.g. I got my plate from here, a lot of them for just £50 ! (plus transfer fees)
