mk2 xr2 with a series 1 rs turbo engine..got the car at 15 and put the engine in it my self..also was running a mg metro turbo at the same time...

Terry I was the same, had MK4 Cortina with leaking rear wheel cyls, I used a pair of mole grips on rear flex pipe to stop fluid leaking, but NO rear brakes, and sold it like that.

until my dad made me buy my own car on my own insurance:Sulk: which was a red pug 205 1.1 because the extra £2674 of the insurance which i payed went up after some b*****d nicked it and torched it after a armed raid:crying::crying::crying:

I remember when i used string out of the passenger window and the same out of the driver window this was attached to the wipers when it rained i pull the wipers up while my mate pulled them down through the passengers window:laugh:

We were coming back from camping in one of our Mini's, just came off the M5 onto the M6 and the dynamo gives up, all the lights faded out so i had my other half in the back seat with a torch covered by a red sock, and me holding a torch in the front :laugh: came off the M6 and the dynamo decided to kick in again, got some really funny looks that night :laugh: The joys of old motors ay :thumbup1:

Fuse went in my escorts headlight circuit, so bridged it with a bit of thick wire, got home but the fues board melted, lucky it didn't catch fire..........

My first car was a white Volvo 745 -87 with the notorious B230K engine.
