Are the gearbox, locking and dials not all controlled by parts of the ECU? Maybe part of it or it's fuses could have been damaged by a power surge of some kind.

Dark Samurai That plug under the dashboard being the dashboard brightness potentiometer knob thingymajig?
Yeah I think that was the one I forgot to plug back in and the headlights didnt work at all.

No they won't mate because it's all connected through there to the dash lights etc...

Me and my dad are going over there tonight to fit the injectors and the car will be up and running, he said there was a relay unplugged by the washer bottle which caused it to not work...
Injectors in, bumper on and it's ready to go.
