Excellent, cheers mate. You make it sound so easy, im sure it will be obvious once i pull it all apart. Im going to bet on different wire colours as mine is a UK n/a, but should be in the same pin location

On mine they're the same colours on the doorlock mechanism itself so you might be in luck there. They are the same colour on retract and non retract import looms (I have both types here) which bodes well.
The only problem is getting access in there to solder and heatshrink, you have to take quite a bit of sheath back.
It's not perfect in mine yet, the alarm seems to send an unlock signal if you've put the keys in the ignition but not started the car, then you take the keys out. So then the mirrors get out of sync with the door lock. I think I know how to fix that though

Honestly I think it's a nice car.
I don't like the wheels, sorry mate.
But sorry for asking a stupid question, but I saw you replaced a "rotor arm" and "dizzy cap", what on earth are these magical contraptions?

Ignition systems, before the days of coil packs. The rotor arm is attached to a camshaft and spins within the distributor cap, sending power down each of the 4 HT leads when it is in the correct position

As Pete said, oldschool ignition system. As it happens the 3S-GTE runs what Toyota called a 'hybrid' ignition system where it still uses a distributor and a spinning rotor to distribute the spark amongst the HT leads, but the contact point on the rotor is quite long, so the ECU can vary when it sends the spark to alter the ignition timing. You set the base timing by rotating the distributor on the end of the cam shaft (the mounting holes are slotted) but then the ECU fine tunes it.

Think they are cheaper than the leads for the MR2 these days, even though there are 2 more and they are longer!!
In fact I just checked, we just ordered a load for Dan's car. This is how it breaks down:
Supra HT leads (set of 6) £95.91
