Well today i cut my gearbox up and bellhousing ready for welding together. The BMW box is slightly narrower than the 1uz bellhousinhg so will have to weld a flange to weld them together.

Yeah know what you mean I've been looking around for people that have done j160 to 2jz but can't find any at the mo I'm thinking of getting a metal plate and using that as an adapter plate a bit like the link below but a little nicer

I made a mock up adaptor plate for this but because BMW box has a dual mass it means the adaptor moves the box too far away for the input shaft to seat in the crank and didn't fancy making spacers for the flywheel.

Last night I made a start on making my flange for welding both pieces of gearbox together. Got myself an off cut of aluminium from ebay a nice 6mm thick 390mm diameter circle piece which was ideal and started cutting till it fit around the gearbox.
