I was under the impression that it was just the F1 circuit and the theme park outside that was closing down. The Nordschleife is theoretically a public road with a toll-booth isn't it?

its so people rush to get on track before they think it will close down, so it generates a bit of extra revenue by people attending thinking they wont be able to go back in 6 months time. but of course it stays open and the process repeats by them saying oh no were closing again, sneaky marketing ploys thats all
