I recently replaced my old Boxee Box with an Asus chromebox, which I've installed Openelec/Kodi on. I don't use the internal drive though, I've got a 6TB NAS that contains all my movies and TV shows. That's my favorite media player solution so far.

That all sounded like a foreign language.
I'll look it up and see what it is.
Thanks :o

Basically he's got the media centre on a separate box, then just bought a hard drive that attaches to your home network with all the films on.

It's similar to the system in my house

Well I've got a hard drive . But if you just put that into the TV it dose not recognise it because it's to big. Up till now I just put the films onto a memory stick and put that direct into the TV. But that's just a carry on. So just needing something to save me doing that

A dedicated media player will be able to read the hard drive.

There is various ones, chrome cast, android units, raspberry pi, etc

I have my pc hooked up to my TV down stairs and i stream everything (movies, tv shows, Netflix and Downloaded materials) from there to every room in the house, for me it was te cheapest option so i made it work...Wink My dad brings me new toys ever time he visits so it didn't cost me anything.
