Could we have 2 sections, 1 for mechanical parts, spares, etc & 1 for appearance, cleaning supplies, wheels, audio and the like.

A bit of both, I know we have these 4 sections, General Car Maintenance, Car Audio/Video/Electronics/Security, Wheels & Tyres, Car Care & Detailing, but I was just thinking if we had suppliers listed we wouldn't have to go through all the posts looking for a company, so when you want say clay bars you could just go directly to the section and choose a company.

You mean like having a sticky posting in those areas with suggested suppliers for those products ? So you'd go to the existing Detailing forum but could click on a sticky of suppliers ?
