found a turbo engine but need help - Chri5 - 14-01-2018 right as some ppl may or may not know i recently bought the toyota altezza rs200 with the 3sge engine as found in the mr2/celica. i have now found a celica gt4 thats been broken and the lad is willing to sell me the engine and shell so i have everything moke:unfortunately this isnt a straight swap as 1st thought as my engine fits the other way round so things like sump, mounts, oil pick up etc are in the wrong place. would anybody be able to take any of this work on to help me out??? i am willing to try doing it but its a bit far advanced for me as i can only change bits that dont need altering or can anybody offer any advice for me??? thanx in advance chris found a turbo engine but need help - steviewevie - 14-01-2018 I can't offer any direct help, but whereabouts in the country are you ? found a turbo engine but need help - Chri5 - 14-01-2018 not far from u mate i am in croydon found a turbo engine but need help - Sparkystav - 14-01-2018 Maybe SPC could help. your pretty much doing the same conversion as 2Tongues. found a turbo engine but need help - Chri5 - 14-01-2018 but wasnt 2tongues the lexus??? so maybe not as much may need changing??? found a turbo engine but need help - Sparkystav - 14-01-2018 yeah but its still the same issues mate found a turbo engine but need help - Asi - 14-01-2018 Gord You will need deep pockets matevery deep!!! found a turbo engine but need help - Chri5 - 14-01-2018 oh i thought already having the 3sge engine in then it wouldnt be as much of an issue fortunately my pockets are deep but unfortunately theres a big hole in there
found a turbo engine but need help - Sparkystav - 15-01-2018 No mate, the engine is defferent with the way the oil squirters and other things work because its normally mounted the other way found a turbo engine but need help - steviewevie - 15-01-2018 I guess at least the electronics and some other bits are more setup for that engine. But you're taking a transverse engine and mounting it longitudinally as has been said. ToyotaGT did the original work on 2tongues' car, and they thought it would be too difficult but even they found it was a lot more complex than they thought (and they specialise in that engine too). |
