Selling a car to someone abroad?? - Bandit - 29-01-2018 Just wanted to ask if any of you guys know much about selling a car to someone from abroad? which parts of the V5C document do i keep/fill in? It looks like i have to fill in the export part but not sure which parts i keep here to send to the DVLA?? I know Anees has done this in the past so hopefully he'll be on later and give me an idea on what i need to do? Think the Skyline going to Germany at the moment, just waiting on the buyer to come back to me with a date/time to meet him at Stansted Airport?
Selling a car to someone abroad?? - parthiban - 29-01-2018 Yep I think it's just the export part so the DVLA know it's left the country and that they don't need to do anything else except de-register it. But Anees is definitely the man to answer this one  Selling a car to someone abroad?? - Moley - 29-01-2018 so did you get a better price for it than the low price you have got it for sale here. I would say well done, but your going to miss it Selling a car to someone abroad?? - Lexusboy - 29-01-2018 As Gord said but get a bill of sale with date and time on it its worth coping the new owners details as well if you have a photo copier.. Good luck with everything mate:thumbup1: Selling a car to someone abroad?? - deckie77 - 29-01-2018 good news bud, hope all goes smooth for ya Selling a car to someone abroad?? - Anees - 29-01-2018 Gord Just fill in the parts that saying export, with new owners name and address and YOU send it off to DVLA, and keep the tax Disc  Gord is right as usual. The Pink Export slip gets fills out and I also wrote an accompanying letter and sent it to the DVLA saying that the car has been exported. Thats all! You need to give the V5 to the new owners because it acts as a certificate of exportation and they can use it to register the car in there country. I got a letter back a few weeks later saying the car was exported. ![]() Not really any harder then selling a car in the UK! Selling a car to someone abroad?? - Bandit - 29-01-2018 Thanks matey, it was more info on what i did with the V5C more than anything, So i keep the export bit and the new owners details and forward the info onto the DVLA? The chap that's after it is a car dealer from the skyline club? so just waiting to hear now when he's coming over to pick it up if he is?? He's supposed to be sending me a deposit and then the rest cash on meeting him?? My only problem is, getting back from Stansted airport but been looking at the trains back and doesn't look to bad, but could do with paying the cash into a bank asap, so i dont end up carrying it around with me while i'm down there? Thanks for your help guys :thumbup1: Selling a car to someone abroad?? - FirebirdPhil - 29-01-2018 There are plenty of trains from Stanstead into London. Use "the train line .com " to book as it is cheaper than buying tickets at the airport. Selling a car to someone abroad?? - parthiban - 29-01-2018 Yeah makes sense to get a cab from the airport and bank the cash straight away, and then get a train back home. Selling a car to someone abroad?? - Bandit - 29-01-2018 Yeh i can get a train back up to Birmingham from Stansted for just over £19 so not too bad, just depends on the time i travel, :thumbup1: |
