Dealers still struggling? - parthiban - 13-03-2018 Got a call from my Lexus dealer earlier in the week asking me if I was interested in changing my car - wasn't too interested as per my previous thread, but as I still have that expensive repair to do thought I'd pop in and see what's what. Worth considering here that I inquired about p/exing early last year and was offered £4,500 at the time. Today they said they'd give me £7,350 against a new car, or £4,800 against a used car which I thought were quite decent valuations, especially considering Parkers has a p/ex value on my car at £3,385 hock:Obviously this was straight off, so some further negotiation might have brought prices down even further. So seems like we're still stuck deep in recession right now despite all the nonsense that apparently we're recovering............. Dealers still struggling? - lexynik - 13-03-2018 hmm - my gf wants me to get a 250 instead of a 300 as she likes the newer shape - ive only got about 8k put by so cant find one in my dealer i can get into as i dont want credit - might go have another look and a hard haggle Dealers still struggling? - parthiban - 13-03-2018 How old is your car? Depends what you want from the new car I guess as to whether you'll get an £8k cost to change or not but I think it should be quite achievable...... Dealers still struggling? - lexynik - 13-03-2018 mines a 99 - cheapest is in main dealer i saw was about 15k Dealers still struggling? - parthiban - 13-03-2018 lexynik mines a 99 - cheapest is in main dealer i saw was about 15k Are you looking for top spec and low mileage? If so then yes that's the sort of price range, but if you don't mind a manual or slightly high miles they're cheaper than that. Dealers still struggling? - lexynik - 13-03-2018 it would have to be auto - miles dont bother me too much but yeah for that kind of money id want every concievable extra Dealers still struggling? - parthiban - 13-03-2018 lexynik it would have to be auto - miles dont bother me too much but yeah for that kind of money id want every concievable extra Yep fair enough, an auto SE-L with satnav is going to be at least £15k - possibly more.......... Dealers still struggling? - lexynik - 13-03-2018 they were - never mind ill console myself with a 300 aero Dealers still struggling? - parthiban - 13-03-2018 lexynik they were - never mind ill console myself with a 300 aero Why not go for a 250 SE? That'll be cheaper and still have more toys than the 300? Dealers still struggling? - lexynik - 13-03-2018 i dont mind really apart from i really like the gen1 is shape and would rather have a good 300 then a dog of a 250 if you see what i mean - plus i want to stay within my budget so i can afford to keep it nice rather then go skint |
