Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - toxo - 13-05-2018 Sad news: http://www.skiddmark.com/sad-news-toyotas-chief-test-driver-dies-in-lfa-crash-near-nurburgring/ The guy was responsible for the AE86, 2 generations of MR2, Altezza, 2000GT and the LFA. RIP
Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - parthiban - 13-05-2018 That's really sad, RIP ad:I'm a bit confused though, both cars are on the wrong sides of the road if it was Germany aren't they? Shouldn't the LFA be on the right and the BMW on the left? Also bit surprised they both died when the car looks intact unless they weren't wearing seatbelts or something - either way obviously not of much relevance any more ad:
Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - Lexusboy - 13-05-2018 This guy must of had a great job driving these cars and i bet if you asked him how he wanted to go it would of been doing what he love Driving prototype cars. RIP Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - reganlives - 13-05-2018 Its a bit confusing really. As said above the stucture of the LFA doesnt seem to be mishaped at all and from the video it doesnt look like there was much footwell instrusion so I'm guessing the must have not been wearing seatbelts. Not much left of the front end tho which goes to show they must have been doing some speed. RIP Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - toxo - 13-05-2018 Remember it was a prototype model so the standard safety systems may not have been fitted / active. Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - Lexusboy - 13-05-2018 The guy may of died from shock or heart attack Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - reganlives - 13-05-2018 Think that kinda defeats the object really if they dont fit the standard safety systems in a prototype. I mean that if a car is a prototype surely it needs at least the standard safety systems if not more? Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - parthiban - 13-05-2018 toxo Remember it was a prototype model so the standard safety systems may not have been fitted / active. Looks like there are airbags but you're right it isn't a finished vehicle. I still don't get why the cars are on opposite sides of the road - although I'm assuming that's the reason the crash occurred........ Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - toxo - 13-05-2018 It was just speculation. The only people who know what really went on aren't around to tell us! Toyota's chief test driver dies in prototype LFA crash in Germany - FirebirdPhil - 13-05-2018 toxo Remember it was a prototype model so the standard safety systems may not have been fitted / active. In the video you can clearly see the air bags had deployed. RIP to a true master of car design. The Nurburgring claims yet another life. |
