Hi all,
I have a double din HU that plays Mp4 video,
I have Mp4 files on my laptop and playback ok through quicktime.
When I burn these Mp4 files to disc and try and play back the movie on the HU all it comes up with is Unsupported file, so what is wrong, as it defo has an Mp4 file extension????
please help guys.

Is your laptop a mac? Apples version of MP4 differs slightly IIRC.

most headunits need to see a file structure to play media

yes three films burnt on dvd
hu see's the films and titles but wont play

Andrew do you think it may need to be burnt to CD, the only prob is that the films are 800Mb, so wont fit

If the player is supposed to play off DVD, then that won't be the problem. If it's saying unsupported file format, most likely the MP4 is probably not in exactly the form it wants. Try converting into a different format (like divx) and see if that works - at least then you'll know it is the file format and not anything else.
