Astra VXR going the way of the Type R - DaveEdin - 11-07-2018
The new emissions regulations take out another "hot hatch", apparently:
Some technical guy off the astra oc forums As of the 13th of August, you will no longer be able to factory order Astra VXR's.
The Astra VXR was due to cease production shortly anyway, but this has now been brought forward due to the new Euro 4 emissions legislation which dictates that any car built with a Euro 4 engine after 31st September 2010 must be registered by 31st December 2010.
Blokey also says that the next gen VXR will run off a different engine pack meaning it'll be compliant... though you have to wonder if it'd be less good to drive...

I'm not sure the VXR is currently that good to drive so let's hope it brings about an improvement

It has a huge torquesteer problem - problem with all FWD cars with so much power and they haven't given it a trick diff or anything to deal with it.
