Cost difference in servicing. - fluff - 25-04-2019 I have booked the car in for a 80,000 8 year service. I always supply my own oil because I prefer the use of Castrol Edge fully synthetic oil where as Lexus use semi synthetic. It doesn't need an air filter either because of it's new intake. Price for service at Lexus Woodford is £402 with me supplying oil and no need for supply and fit of air filter. Price for service at Lexus Hatfield is £400 with me supplying oil etc etc. Price for service at Lexus Milton Keynes is £270 etc etc. They said if I didn't supply oil and it had an air filter then the price is £400. Does it seem that Hatfield and Woodford and trying to swindle me out of £130? Or am I just too dumb to understand today? <----- Could well be the case! Cost difference in servicing. - fluff - 25-04-2019 Doh. Sorry Dave. Well spotted. Joys of being Monday I suppose. Well, just fired off an email to Woodford with my concerns about the difference in price between Milton Keynes and them, and two minutes later I got a call from James the service guy there and reworked the price for the 80,000 8 year service. Turns out, funneley enough, the guy who have me the original price didn't deduct the cost of oil and a filter from the £400. So, I'm going to take it to Woodford instead of MK. I do like them there Lexus stamps in me book. Cost difference in servicing. - parthiban - 25-04-2019 jsj24uk Doh. Sorry Dave. Well spotted. Joys of being Monday I suppose. Good result - makes you wonder if James wasn't around would Woodford be as good as we who use them think they are....... Cost difference in servicing. - Lexusboy - 25-04-2019 Jim . I think you need to qualify what each of them are doing for the money. here what should be done at 80,000 miles Replace air conditioner filter ❏ Rotate tires ❏ Replace engine oil and oil filter ❏ Road-test vehicle Additional Maintenance Items for Special Operating Conditions:1 ❏ Re-torque drive shaft flange bolts ❏ Inspect the following: ____Ball joints and dust covers ____Engine air filter ____Brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs ____Nuts and bolts on chassis and body ____Drive shaft boots ____Steering linkage and boots Cost difference in servicing. - fluff - 25-04-2019 All the dealerships confirmed it was the 8 year 80,000 mile service. Thanks for the info though Ian. Cost difference in servicing. - Phil01 - 25-04-2019 But still that cost of £270ish just for basically an oil and filter change and a road test, or is it me just being tight with money??:confused1: Cost difference in servicing. - fluff - 26-04-2019 Your not tight with money Phil. It also has alot to do with me being a service book stamp snob. I like to see all those L stamps in it.
