Green boogers on my wheelS - clossie - 02-05-2019 Why oh why does a high street branded garage use bright green snot coloured dust caps when they fill our lovely new Tyres with nitrogen. Noticed them as soon as I walked towards the car, but in typical true Brit fashion didn't do anything. But......now some 8 hours later, looking at those little bobbles of boogers on my anthracite alloys is just driving me mad and I won't get a chance to get to halfords till the weekend. But! Do I take this opportunity to improve on the ole plastic dust cap. What have you guys got? Green boogers on my wheelS - jay_russell - 02-05-2019 i have custom ones on the verso that go with the wheels and locking type on the lexus
Green boogers on my wheelS - Phil01 - 02-05-2019 Blue anodised aluminium, £1.98 for two in Halfords, Look in the motorcycle section Green boogers on my wheelS - clossie - 02-05-2019 Was thinking perhaps black aluminium but are these things good enough to hold the colour or will they chip? Green boogers on my wheelS - Phil01 - 02-05-2019 shoulld be ok mate Green boogers on my wheelS - Stoney - 02-05-2019 clossie Was thinking perhaps black aluminium but are these things good enough to hold the colour or will they chip? If anything is likely to chip the dust caps... I'd be more worried about whatever it was chipping the alloys! I would have thought the green caps were obvious, as there is no other way of detecting whether the tyres are Nitrogen filled? Green boogers on my wheelS - dodgydave - 03-05-2019 I also had to cut the alloy dust caps off Sarah's Yaris with a dremal because they had corrodid on  Green boogers on my wheelS - spikes - 03-05-2019 i use richbrook spinning anti theft caps, used a small amount of copper grease to stop them corroding.jobdone  Green boogers on my wheelS - Voodoo Vix - 03-05-2019 I got nismo ones
Green boogers on my wheelS - Stoney - 03-05-2019 Avoid cheap ones on ebay etc. Spend a few quid more and get branded ones, such as Richbrook, or at least ones that are made of a material guaranteed not to rust. I have had to cut many a valve off bikes in my time, only once on a car. A lot more hassle than it's worth. |
