This was discussed over on WIM recently, does seem like just a bit of printed paper now - seeing as it looks like it could be so easily forged is this all part of a move towards the MOT being electronic?

it also means you cant hide advisorys as its written on the right side of the mot....its also cheaper for vosa

That's probably the main reason.

I also heard that its only a receipt and not an MOT a such, and that its your responsibility to check that its being updated to the VOSA MOT site by the MOT center so that its on record, meaning that if the MOT guy forgets to update you MOT to the site and you get stopped or get hit by those ANPR vans its gonna show you dont have an MOT!!

On another note is the paper they use water marked in any way?
If not you could just place a plain bit of paper over the advisory part and photo copy it!

nope it is an mot... and soon as the cars registered and then passed its on the system.ie.if i do a mot at 9am and i finish the mot at 940 boom your cars on the system as a pass and has a valid mot at 940..
not water marked in anayway but it is a legal doc so you could face the court if you tampered with it.....ie if a person notices its a photo copy and goes to vosa they reprint the mot and they see advisorys but on the copy you did their was none they would come after you:Bazza:

Must admit when I picked mine up on Tuesday, I though the testing station was just being cheap n it's use of printer paper...still....it was a pass nonetheless

i think its a good idea, least you can photcopy it and keep a copy in the car with other docs with out the fear of losing it and having to pay for a new copy, although it does look very cheap and home made
