ormi how long does it take to polish a charger matey?

:topic: Not too long mate, its the prep work that's the hard part, sanding it down can take ages but all depends on the condition of the casting? but i did cheat on mine and painted between the ribs on the top, and just polished the tops, and the main parts :thumbup1:

Confusedhock: Confusedhock:

Flippin heck Chris! That looks amazing!!!!!!! I honestly wouldn't worry about buffing it up to much as otherwise it will look too good compared to my semi shiney cam cover LOL

Honestly mate its perfect! The black looks awesome as well! The fuel rail will obviously go in between so will cover up a bit anyway! I really do owe you loads mate as the work you have put into this is truely amazing!!!!!!! You have some proper skills Chris and the patience of a god!

Well, while im typing this i may as well update the thread! As some of you may know things went a bit wrong for me recently with this car! Started smoking a bit and after a compression test it was discovered that a piston ring had gone! Was booked in for the work some 3 weeks back and after spending over £250 on oil, filters and a LOT of gaskets it was dropped of to get sorted. After removing the whole engine and stripping it down its now clear that the engine is DEAD!!!!!! The owner before me has advanced the timing too far and it has been overfueling really bad. It has actually washed all the oil from the cylinders and has actually scored the engine bad! so much that the cylinders are almost oval. So the options are to forge it or buy a new engine. As this is my daily runner and the buggy is my toy i went for a new engine. Currently have a engine on order (at a cost of £255 delivered) and should be here within the next week or so.

Now the guys who will be fitting my engine are rammed with work so it looks like i WONT be bringing the maz to JAE. To say im upset is an understatement! Was so looking forward to my first year at JAE in this car but looks like we will be attending in Sarah's 1 litre Yaris :Sulk:

At least i will be there i guess.........................:crying:

I want this at the show as well but i don't think its going to happen. My boss has even said i can have a couple of days off to help assemble the engine but still think it won't be possible Sad

I had a few plans to clean the engine bay up before JAE and as the car is in pieces in basingstoke i can't actually do anything on it at all. Sad Its driving me flippin nuts not being able to drive it!

Thanks Mate. Yes been a bit of a pain!

Just had confirmation that the engine is going out today at 2:30 and will be delivered within 48 hours so should be with the rest of the car by Friday! Hopefully going to get up there on Saturday and start looking at whats what and hopefully getting some parts fitted that i can.

I may speak to my boss about getting Tuesday off work also so i can spend the day doing a few bits to the engine to try and get it done in time for JAE. Still a very small chance i may make it.....................................:confused1:
