Well i sold mine for a reasonable figure but know for a fact had i removed everything including bodykit and sold the car as a standard is200 and then all the parts i would have made over 4k more on parts that the sale price of the car

It depends if the market is there for bits, the car as a whole you should get a tidy sum for if its running....
Stripping it for parts completly yes and no i mean ask demon how well he did out of selling all the little bits and bobs from his not sure his total outcome but think he did ok

Same with Bandit when he sold his car etc made more by splitting bits and selling off than he would have if he had sold the car whole with all mods etc

It really is a case of what you got and how much you will sell it for....

When breaking it comes down to how much time and effort you want to put in. It could take a year to get rid of all of the bits, and a lot of effort removing, cleaning, ebay listing, re-listing, re-re-listing, posting, etc. all the parts. Though in the long run, you should always get more in total than the value of the compete care, but it's HASSLE!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Maybe I should host a "Black Lexus Breaking Day". Where everyone comes down with their toolboxes and strips off everything they want from the car :p

Breaking cars takes a LONG time, especially a rare(ish) model. I still have 2/3rds of an LS400!

Sorry to hear about your car Sad

That would be cool Gord. Did you see one at JAE? It was the rear half of a car, and had a BBQ built inside it, was pretty cool. Smelt good too.

If you are taking requests Jim, I think I could make a nice coffee table, Top Gear style, out of the engine block if it's being disposed of!
