Agree with Toxo when you do a build fit new heart , lungs and kidney ie OIL PUMP , WATER PUMP , TIMING BELT and THERMOSTAT before you buy any air freshener.s to go with the rest , Shame i could not do the clutch could really do with the cash
Yea I wish you were doing it also, it started to slip even off boost, and with a leeking water pump it wouldn't have made it to you. Why can't you be based nearer to me, you would have ALL the work.
Good to hear that its all getting done you'll have a smooth running motor there buddy :thumbup1:
Car was 100% sorted by SPC, these are little jobs that needed attention. It runs smoothly and quickly:laugh:
Great to hear all's going well with the motor mate, 300+ is not good in the snow/ice :Chair: good fun but can get a bit hairy when your drifting in a straight line :w00t:
Still looking forward to being taken for a blast in it, now its sorted and running the power you wanted originally :thumbup1:
Snow has stopped work on the car - mechanic can't get to work, the apprentice can but isn't touching my car:Shooting::Shooting:!!
Doesn't matter because their garage is at the bottom of a hill, only way out is up the hill that isn't gritted and has deep compacted snow, so the Lex wouldn't get out anyway, so the car is sitting in the warm garage protected from the cold:laugh:
OK car back on the road, and everything works perfect, even a slight and I mean slight misfire when 1st moving off when engine is cold is gone, all down to the new timing belt, which shows cheap belts ARE NOT ANY GOOD.
With me there is always a BUT though............ Here goes,
The water temp is just not getting hot whilst driving, on idle it gets to 70c no problem but as soon as the car is moving it falls to nothing. Thermostat is new and works properly, no leaks from the housing etc.
How can I get the coolant up to operating temperature???????

It is a well known fact with 3SGTE's that cheap belts are not worth the saving. SPC have seen supposedly good belts throw timing off and when replaced with OEM one all is fine again. They warned me that when doing the water pump to ensure an OEM one was used highlighted by their previous experience.
