I think that the problem with the traction is that there's not a lot of abrasive grip there on the start line at the strip, there's loads of rubber laid down. So with cold road tyres it will seem very slippery.

That's why they give you the chance to do a burnout before the line to heat your tyres up, so they'll grip better. *But* personally I'd be very wary of attempting a burnout for the sake of my clutch and other drivetrain components !

just reduce your tyre pressure it works just as good thats what dragsters do:thumbup1:
and what i did last time i went

Good point. And if you've got adjustable coilovers, then softening your rear suspension on a RWD car) should help traction too, since there will be more weight transfer to the rear as you get off the line.

Marsdendean Ill bring a pump and turn the TC off. The spare wheel is also being left at home, and any unessary junk is being removed! Just hope im coming in mine now!

I cant agree with that,

you should run the car as normal. your only fooling yourself taking bits you normally carry out.

IMO anyway

Hi Marcus i will be in the truck but wont run it as the rear suspension is very stiff so im looking at changeing the set up at the moment its a very fast road car , Did another porshe today dont no when they will learn that the Truck just swallows them up and spits them out Confusedhock:, Do you want to travel in convoy ? Im meeting D Read at the Services in Harlow at 7.30 on Sun Morning

Also last time i ran the strip i was told no to come back unless i had a skid lid after the very first run as it was way over the 110 mark
