Sparkystav the dumpvalve doesnt allow air to pass around the charger when your idling/cruising

still wouldnt make the car conk though....would it ??

Recirculation is for fuel efficiency and compressor load when not under load.

is it possibly if you had it off at some point the pipework leading in or out has got something in there.
