Yeah like i said to stav, if they were under bonnet then you couldnt see them even when on.
It's odd if you couldn't see them when they were on, when they were further back on the headlight. I think there must be a problem with how Phil's bonnet sits then, because on my car (and others) you can see them fine when they're switched on and further back. There should be quite a gap above the headlight when the bonnet is closed.

they look like they should fit but fair enough if you cant see them
as said look much better that length but not keen on them sticking out like that and wires on show.you might have bonnet alighnment issues as plenty of people have fitted the led brows under the bonnet.

Like the length but as others have said they do look a bit odd on the front of the headlight like that - might look good in the flesh though so no worries if they do.
