Air Filter
Air Filter
Andy-R. TBH mate forced indution doesn't give hardly any extra power just sounds better.
K&N is a no-brainer upgrade IMHO. Helps fuel economy a bit, sounds slightly better, doesn't cost much (you need air filters anyway) and you know the engine is breathing better.

No, it's not normal. Did you reset the ECU soon before that ? If not, give that a go. If you did, might be part of the learning process ?
I assume this didn't use to happen before you changed the filter ? Might be worth double-checking that it's in place properly.
No not normal at all.
If filter is all that you've changed recently then i'd start there, were you careful when replacing the filter that no debris went past the filter??? i know i pulled out leaves & hoovered out some dust before fitting mines.
Did you re-set your ecu???? i re-set mine but it just may be yours coming to terms with the new filter???
EDIT - Stevie beat me to it.
Yes I reset the ecu. It has done it before, but only once or twice. It doesn't happen everytime either. And will sit at idle fine when just started, or I haven't been driving hard.
A friend at work has said it could be the MAF sensor, going to clean the airbox out when I get home tonight. And see if there is any dust on the sensor.
The K&N is a tight fit make sure it's in place properly and the filter housing is sitting correctly in the air box.
The IS200 doesn't have a MAF sensor (it has MAP instead).
